Wethaq Takaful Insurance Company, a Kuwaiti public shareholding company, was established in 2000 with a paid-up capital of KD 11,025,000. As one of the pioneering national insurance providers in Kuwait, the company is dedicated to serving individuals and businesses by offering Sharia-compliant insurance solutions tailored to a wide range of needs.

"Wethaq" holds the distinction of being the first Islamic insurance company in Kuwait to receive a rating from S&P’s (ranked second globally) among its peers. This recognition reflects the company’s financial strength, creditworthiness, and steadfast commitment to the highest professional and quality standards, as assessed by S&P’s rigorous methodology. The company has successfully maintained its rating to date.

Further solidifying its market standing, Wethaq Takaful is accredited by the Kuwaiti Oil sector, registered with the Central Tenders Committee as an approved supplier, and has been listed in the Kuwait Stock Exchange since 2004. It also marked a significant milestone by becoming the first Takaful company in Kuwait to distribute an insurance surplus and the only one to allocate 100% of that surplus to its policyholders.
